South Baridhara: Academic Affairs

Curriculum

For any well-groomed academic institution like Islamic International School and College, the curriculum is the backbone- in other word, the true strength of the institution. At IISC, our curriculum is specifically designed to lead our students on the path of education, knowledge, patriotism and religiousness. Of course, we strictly maintain the government instructions while designing the curriculum and setting the text books and evaluation process.

Regarding curriculum, we strongly focus on maintaining the highest standard of academic achievement. The students are evaluated based on their completed assignments, examinations and overall performance. We never forget to teach our students the values of humanity and compassion as guided by Allah subhanahu wa tala, to make them truly practicing Muslims.

We have designed specific programmes for specific age levels to fulfil certain goals and build a process of positive learning in accordance with their age and learning ability.

Programmes for Play Group to KG: The programmes for Play Group to KG enumerate some basic aspects. At this stage a caring, safe and encouraging educational environment is provided to the child.

Programmes for Class I to Class IV: At this stage, the growth of the developing child is considered. The social, physical, emotional and cultural needs of the individual as well as intellectual needs are addressed. The students are provided a relevant and challenging academic curriculum. They are taught how to learn. Their belief in the religion is fostered at this stage.

Programmes for Class V to Class VIII: Students’ high academic achievement is fostered at this stage through the study of subjects of a broad range of discipline. Effective study skills and strong communication skills are developed, together with an awareness of the media and competence information technology. The student’s religious practice is ensured from this stage.

Programmes for Class IX: Students are taught detailed writing at this stage. Their leadership qualities are emphasized, and arrangements are made for fostering these qualities.

Development of Moral Compass: Moral enhancement teaching and development of moral ethics are the most crucial parts of teachings at IISC. Without the proper development of moral values, a student will just become a vessel without the guiding compass and we cannot imagine a true, righteous, wise future leader without a moral compass. Thus, we always emphasize the development of moral values as well as strict decision making on Do’s and Don’ts as guided in Islamic principles.

Academic Year and School Hour

The academic year of the institution runs from January to December of each session. Classes continue from 08:00 AM to 12:45 PM in summer and from 8:30 AM to 1:15 PM in winter season.

The South Baridhara Branch curriculum is maintained according to National Curriculum (English Version). We have here:

Play Group to Class IX, leading to SSC.

Extra-Curricular Activities: We have Extra-Curricular activities where students can join as per their core interest & willingness and develop their skills by participating in various activities designed in these programs.

Teaching Staff: We have developed an adroit set of teaching staff for our students. We have experienced, well-trained and well-groomed teachers who handle their students with ultimate patience and care. Each member of the team is highly committed to their purpose. They feel a missionary zeal in the work rather than considering it a service. All the teachers must be true Muslims having Islamic character and values to stand before the students as examples.

Evaluation: Semester system of courses is applied for testing and evaluation of students’ performance. The passing grade for the school level is 50%. Students’ overall performance is evaluated on the basis of the academic tests (both written and oral), performance shown in the extra-curricular activities and their moral development. We use of an app called Noipunno which features a 7-point scale.
